- We can’t say the song title on the air, but we sure can on the KEXP Blog! So, check out the clip for the track “Shithole” from Toronto stand-outs Weaves. Director Trevor Blumas fixes his lens on frontwoman Jasmyn Burke. In a press release, Burke says, “We shot this video on a hot Summers day with no AC in the Coffin Factory Lofts in Toronto. Sweaty and intimate. Visually it’s sort of the build up and break down of myself through the different looks. I wrote the song when I was living in a shitty place and was feeling kind of down, but the mysterious thing is I have no recollection of writing it. I found it on my computer one day and had thought I must have sent it to Morgan but I hadn’t. So we essentially did the demo the day after I re-discovered the track and were playing it live soon after.” Watch below, and then watch their KEXP in-studio session here. [DIY Magazine]

- Check out a track below from Sad13, solo project of Speedy Ortiz frontwoman Sadie Dupuis. In a press release, she explains the single “Devil In U” saying, “It’s about constraining your life to avoid conflict in the face of emotional abuse. You cut yourself off from your support systems and passions to prevent and assuage your partner’s irrational reactions; you force yourself to fit another person’s definition of “angelic” so as not to provoke their “devilish” side. But no devil is worth your care if they don’t love and support you for who you are. And if the ‘Devil In U’ causes you to hurt someone you supposedly love, maybe you’re just the devil, period.” Sad13’s debut Slugger hits stores November 11th via Carpark. [Stereogum]
- Dan Bejar just wrapped up a little US tour in support of last year’s Destroyer LP, Poison Season. On the road, he tried out a few new tracks, including one titled “A Light Travels Down The Catwalk (Boulevard Of Sin).” Check out fan shot footage from Florida below.
