Jay Z and Madonna lead the list of 2017 nominees for the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Associated Press reports. George Michael, Bryan Adams, Vince Gill, Babyface, Max Martin, Kool & the Gang, Cat Stevens, Sly Stone, Chicago, Gloria Estefan, Jeff Lynne, David Gates, and the duo Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have also been nominated. Find the full list of nominees here. Songwriters become eligible for induction after having a songwriting career of at least 20 years. Five members from the group of nominees will be inducted on June 2017.
Earlier this week, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame shared its list of 2017 nominees, which includes Pearl Jam, Tupac Shakur, Depeche Mode, and Bad Brains. The 2017 inductees for the Rock Hall will be announced in December.
